Old Colorado City addition & remodel

After

Before
Originally an 800 sf west side miner’s cabin, we added a 1000 sf second story and 250 sf to the lower level. Traditional timber framing was used for the second floor framing and support structure.

The main level has a adobe floor made with local clay, straw and sand. The floor has hot water radiant heat and was finished with many coats of solvent-free tung oil finish. Lightweight gypsum plaster over lathe was used for interior wall surfaces with the finish coat tinted for a mottled, leathery look.
